Frequently Asked Questions

The free trial for a Shibari Study membership is 7 days. On the 8th day, you will be charged your monthly fee of $25 (or other fee applying to the selected Membership Plan). Then, your monthly payments will recur on the same day of every month.

For example, if your first payment is on the 22nd of the month, your auto-renewal will remain on the 22nd for every subsequent billing. If you do not cancel your free trial, you will be charged on the 8th day of your membership and will be able to cancel your payment for the following month. The same applies to semi-annual and annual subscription plans.

Yes! Because life doesn’t always leave time for ropes, Members on Monthly or Quarterly Plans can pause and resume membership as needed once every 12 months. To do this, log in to your account and go to the Dashboard. Click on ‘Billing/Purchases’, find your active plan and select ‘Manage’. Click ‘End Membership’. At this point, you’ll have the option to pause your membership instead. Choose the duration – 1, 2, or 3 months – and click ‘Pause’ to finalize. The pause will begin at the end of your current billing cycle, not immediately. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your pause takes effect and your plan will automatically resume once the pause ends.

The price for a Shibari Study membership is $25 (USD) per month - see our different plans for the semester and annual discounts - this payment will recur monthly on the same day.

To check what day you will be billed on, head to your Profile's "Billing" section.

Yes! After choosing a membership plan you will see the option “buy as a gift” instead of creating an account for yourself. To redeem a gift card, select “Have a gift card?” bellow all membership plan options.

After purchasing your new beautiful set of Shibari ropes, you may want to learn how to take care of them so that they stay pleasant to use for both you and your partner(s). Here you can find a guide to treating your ropes in 6 easy steps and some tips about caring for and maintaining your Anatomie ropes.

The most common thickness for Shibari rope is 6mm and the minimum we would advise to use for suspensions. In some cases, 5mm or even 4mm can be a good choice, for example if using rope for accents (like hair, toes, hands, face, or intricate lacing) if the partner/model is petite or if you are using rope for floor-play only.

Sometimes the video player can get stuck on one language and doesn't switch automatically between languages. Try refreshing the page after selecting the language you want for the captions, and it should work fine!

We are currently working on resolving this issue with our video player.

We do not have a lot of content dedicated specifically to self-tying or self-suspension at the moment. However, most of our content can be adapted to solo practice.

All harnesses tied on the lower body or arms-free can be self-tied with a few modifications to simplify the back (you can find an example in the self-tied variation of the "Xana Harness"). You can learn all the techniques used for suspensions (solo or partnered) in our "Suspension Lines" series. All of our Beginner Course can be practiced solo, except for the very last section. All of our Floor Play or Suspension classes can be used as inspiration for your solo practice.

Message us with your rope related questions, collaborations, and other requests at contact@shibaristudy.com and we'll do our best to answer quickly.
